A dynamic Social Impact Consultancy helping organisations define purpose, measure impact and communicate it with credibility.

B Corp Hub

The B Corp Hub: Research, Capital, Community & Impact

B Corp certification is rigorous, demanding and increasingly influential. Across the UK and East Africa, more purpose-led organisations are committing publicly to balancing profit and impact. That commitment matters, to teams, to customers and increasingly to investors.

What interests us is how that commitment evolves over time:

  • How does certification translate into governance, reporting, culture and capital?
  • How is it understood internally?
  • How does it shape external credibility?

To explore these questions, we are engaging with B Corps and purpose-led enterprises across both regions, building research, dialogue and a collaborative B Corp community in East Africa.

Research & Emerging Themes

Through ongoing conversations with founders, impact leads, advisors and investors, we are examining how certification operates in practice, particularly within fast-growing and entrepreneurial markets.

Areas of focus include:

  • The integration of impact metrics into management reporting
  • Board-level oversight of social and environmental performance
  • The clarity, consistency and credibility of impact data
  • How purpose influences strategic and capital allocation decisions
  • How impact is understood internally and communicated externally
  • Whether B Corp status strengthens stakeholder and investor confidence

Insights will be shared through blogs, research papers, webinars, discussions and podcasts highlighting real-world experience.

Capital & Investment Readiness

Across East Africa, many purpose-led enterprises engage with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), family offices and institutional impact investors.

In these contexts, credibility is critical:

  • Reliable data
  • Clear methodology
  • Governance oversight
  • Alignment between purpose and performance.

We are particularly interested in how B Corp certification contributes to impact investment readiness, and how recognised standards translate into long-term confidence from global capital providers.

With experience in corporate finance in London and ongoing work across East Africa, this intersection between impact and investment remains an important area of focus.

B Corp Hub – East Africa

Alongside the research, we are establishing a B Corp Hub for East Africa.

The aim is to create a thoughtful space for:

  • Certified B Corps
  • Organisations exploring certification
  • Advisors and ecosystem builders
  • Impact-focused investors

Through online roundtables and curated discussions, the Hub will encourage peer exchange, shared learning and practical dialogue as the regional ecosystem continues to develop.

Complementary Frameworks

The B Lab B Impact Assessment provides a structured and internationally recognised route to certification.

Alongside this, we have developed the Social Impact Maturity Assessment — a diagnostic framework designed to help purpose-led organisations understand how deeply impact is embedded across governance, operations, culture and communication. To find out more about the Social Impact Maturity Assessment, and how this is combined with a 30 minute call to discuss the results and next steps, click here.

Certification provides recognition. Integration builds resilience. Maturity reflects evolution.
