Strategy for Social Impact Excellence
Our vision
That’s the world we’re working for.
What we are
We help organisations understand, improve and communicate the difference they make.
Define your purpose, impact priorities and a practical roadmap.
Deliver evaluation, measurement, reporting and credible communications.
Bring in senior impact expertise to help you keep improving.
About
We combine curiosity, creativity and rigour to turn evidence into better decisions, clearer stories and stronger impact.
Serious about impact.
Human about everything else.
Our definition
“Social impact is the meaningful change that individuals and organisations help to create for people, communities, society and the wider environment, delivered through a model that is sustainable and endures over time.”
My Social Impact
Who we help
You need to know whether your capital is actually creating the change it was intended to create.
We help investors and development finance organisations define, measure and understand impact, including social impact due diligence before investment and ongoing impact assessment afterwards. The result is stronger decision-making, clearer evidence and more credible reporting.

We love working with B Corps.
We are currently on a mission to talk to every B Corp in Africa, around 100 organisations. Our first client was Agri Evolve, a Uganda-based B Corp.
Our passion for B Corps extends to the UK and around the world.
Doing extraordinary work is one thing. Proving its lasting impact is another.
We help charities and NGOs understand what is changing, build credible evidence and communicate it clearly.
Our Charity Impact Reports bring evidence, outcomes and stories together, with practical support for SORP 2026.
Explore Charity Impact Reports →Customers are questioning corporate claims. Greenwashing and impact-washing have made trust harder to earn.
We help organisations find genuine purpose, understand the impact behind their claims and communicate it credibly to build trust.
How we think
Social impact can get complicated very quickly. We try to make it simpler.
That means asking better questions, finding the evidence that actually matters and creating practical ways for organisations to understand, improve and communicate their impact.
We don’t believe in measurement for measurement’s sake. The point is to learn, make better decisions and ultimately create more impact.
Products
We develop practical tools, frameworks and approaches that make social impact easier to understand, improve and communicate.

A practical framework for organisations that want to get better at social impact, not simply report more of it.
Bringing purpose, leadership, evidence, delivery and communication together in one approach.

Helping organisations align what they say, what they do and what they stand for.
A specialist purpose, social impact marketing and communications offer built to strengthen credibility and stakeholder trust.

A clearer way for charities to explain the difference they make.
Credible, accessible impact reporting that brings together strategy, evidence, outcomes and stories.
Helping festivals and cultural and community events understand the difference they make.
We measure their economic, social and environmental impact. We have built a portal to make the before, during and after process faster and more efficient, from planning what to measure to organising evidence and producing the final report.

Because good intentions don’t automatically make an impact claim a good one.
A practical framework for making social impact claims clearer, more credible and easier to trust.

We ask better questions before reaching for answers. Curiosity helps us understand what is really happening, rather than simply measuring what is easiest to count.
We challenge convention and look for fresh, practical ways forward. Sometimes the answer is a framework. Sometimes it is research, a new tool or an idea nobody had considered yet.
Imagination matters. So does being able to prove what you say. We want evidence that is useful, proportionate and robust enough to stand up to scrutiny.
Behind every number is a person, a community and a story. Data matters enormously. We just never want to forget what the data is actually about.
We move quickly, learn as we go and prefer progress to paperwork. Social impact should help organisations act, not bury them beneath another layer of process.
We use AI and smart technology where it makes the work better, faster or more useful. Not because it is fashionable. Because used well, technology can reduce the boring work and leave more time for thinking.
How we work
Good social impact work starts with understanding the problem, not reaching immediately for a framework.
Where are you now? What matters? What are you trying to change?
Where do you want to be? What evidence matters? What is the right approach?
Turn the thinking into practical action, tools, systems and work that gets done.
Understand what changed, learn from it and keep getting better.
What we do
Understand the offer in ten seconds. Choose the level of support that fits.
Design the approach.
We act as the architects of your approach to social impact, using Social Impact Excellence to connect purpose with practical action.
A clear direction for the difference you want to create.
Understand where you are strong and where you can improve.
Connect what you do with the change you want to create.
Decide what actually matters and how you will know whether it’s working.
Turn the strategy into priorities, responsibilities and action.
Get important work done.
We deliver focused pieces of work that help organisations understand, improve and communicate their impact.
Credible, engaging evidence of the difference you’re making.
Understand what worked, what changed and what should happen next.
Better KPIs, evidence, dashboards and ways of collecting useful information.
Focused work across Purpose, Leadership, Data, Delivery or Communication.
Turn evidence into stories and claims people can understand and trust.
Keep improving every month.
We can work alongside your organisation every month, helping you implement, measure, learn and improve.
Senior impact expertise without necessarily hiring another full-time senior employee.
Regular check-ins against your impact priorities and roadmap.
Review data and turn it into better management decisions.
Identify gaps and strengthen Purpose, Leadership, Data, Delivery and Communication.
Prepare continuously for reporting, funders, investors, boards or requirements such as SORP 2026.
Make sure evidence gathered throughout the year becomes credible reporting and communication.
We can design the approach, deliver the work, or stay alongside you as you put it into practice.
Organisations
Our team has worked with organisations across charities, social enterprise, business, international development, events and the creative industries.

People
My Social Impact is a boutique consultancy, deliberately kept small and senior.
Our clients work directly with the people doing the thinking and the work, from the first conversation through to delivery.

Co-founder | Social Impact & Strategy
Marcus is a Chartered Accountant and social impact consultant who has worked with charities, businesses and purpose-led organisations for many years.
He combines financial and strategic thinking with a particular interest in impact strategy, reporting and innovation. He has been exploring new ways for organisations to understand and communicate social impact, including developing social impact statements and practical approaches to making impact evidence more useful.
His focus is often on turning complicated questions into practical approaches that organisations can actually use.

Co-founder | Brand, Purpose & Ethical Marketing
Chris is a creative strategist, author and ethical marketing specialist with extensive experience helping organisations connect purpose, brand and positive social impact.
A former Board Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, he has spent his career working across brand strategy, communications and creativity, with a particular interest in how organisations communicate purpose credibly and build trust. He is the author of Ethical Marketing and the New Consumer.
At My Social Impact, Chris brings a creative and communications perspective to impact strategy, helping ensure that evidence is not only robust but understood.

International Development, Evaluation & Systems
Nicholas is an American international development specialist based in Kampala, with more than 20 years’ experience working across development programmes and donor-funded environments.
His experience includes USAID-related work, programme design and delivery, monitoring and evaluation, localisation and systems thinking. He has also spent several years exploring how AI can strengthen research, programme design, delivery and learning.
At My Social Impact, Nicholas brings deep on-the-ground experience of how impact programmes actually work, particularly in Uganda and international development.

Data, Systems & Technology
Gareth is Managing Director of Fluid IT, a digital and IT consultancy based in Leeds in the UK. He brings deep expertise in technology, data and business systems, spanning data architecture, CRM, digital transformation and the systems organisations need to turn information into something genuinely useful for management and decision-making.
Gareth is a key partner for My Social Impact. He helps bridge the gap between impact ambition and the technology and data infrastructure required to support it, especially where organisations need better systems for collecting, managing, analysing and reporting impact information.
Together, the team combines strategy, finance, brand, communications, data and technology around a common question: how can organisations create more meaningful social impact?
Associates
We deliberately keep our core team small and senior.
When a project needs additional specialist expertise, we work with a wider network of trusted independent associates across disciplines, sectors and geographies.
That allows us to build the right team around the problem rather than carrying a large permanent consultancy structure.
If you’re an independent specialist in Uganda, elsewhere in East Africa, the UK or anywhere around the world, and would like to become an associate, we’d love to hear from you.
marcus@mysocialimpact.org ↗Thinking
We’re curious about where social impact is going next. Our thinking covers impact measurement, reporting, charity regulation, social impact claims, new approaches to evidence and the occasional idea that simply seemed too interesting not to explore.

Ecosystem
Sometimes the right expertise sits outside the traditional consultancy model.
We work alongside specialist ventures and collaborators where their expertise can make the work better.

The Ideas Shed
The Ideas Shed explores new ideas, ventures and technologies, helping turn promising concepts into practical projects, tools and businesses.
Its work sits between strategy, creativity and experimentation: shaping early ideas, testing what has potential and finding clear routes from possibility to action.
We collaborate where a social impact challenge needs fresh thinking, a new product or a more imaginative way forward. That perspective helps keep innovation at the heart of My Social Impact.

Good Numbers
Good Numbers brings accounting and social impact together, helping charities and purpose-led organisations connect financial reporting with a clearer understanding of the difference they create.
A particular focus is SORP 2026 and the changing expectations around how charities communicate impact alongside their financial reporting.
Good Numbers also works with accountancy firms, providing specialist social impact expertise that complements their existing charity accounting, audit and advisory relationships.
Our promise
We will challenge you, support you and partner with you to create social impact that is real, meaningful and recognised today and for tomorrow.
Not more measurement for the sake of measurement.
Not another report destined for a shelf.
Better understanding. Better decisions. More impact.
